Be Aware of Home Warranty Scam Letters

If you receive a letter with phrases such as "Final Notice" or "Immediate Response Needed" saying that your home warranty is about to expire, do not call the phone number in the letter. Instead, contact your mortgage lender or insurance provider directly using the phone number on your original paperwork to verify your coverage. Although these letters may look legitimate because it references your name, address and lender, scammers can pull this information from public county records.

To protect yourself, never call or text the phone number listed in a suspicious letter, email, or text message especially if you did not initiate the contact.
